Yovo Yovchev is a modern artist whose creative vision goes far beyond traditional figurative art and approved canons. Rather than illustrative and realistic, his means of expression are the abstraction and the suggestion. The wealth of symbols and meanings imparts to his works a provocative character. His principal goal is to make the audience of the exhibition experience the world created by him. Colors and figures are shading into a great dynamic panorama with gradating nuances of different moods. Looking closely at Yovo’s pictures, one can notice that while the figures under the masks are moving, raving or filling the background, their lines are covered by lazing flames, the veil of the flood rain, and the gaze of the mood. Sometimes we can feel a barely perceptible tiredness and sadness. But perhaps the artist paint these bright masks in order to prevent us from seeing our real faces… Zoltan Kiraly, Hungarian Writer,1993
